Early Voting Has Begun
October 1, 2016
Edgewood High School

On Friday, September 23, the van stopped on the west side of Madison for registration events at Edgewood High School and Edgewood College. Social Studies teacher Wade DallaGrana invited us to the high school, where students who would be 18 years old by November 8 were ready to register. Registrars from the Dane County League were ready with stations for Madison residents and for residents from nearby communities. We looked up students’ addresses on myvote.wi.gov and let students know where they will vote, and we also filled them in on early voting in the Madison area. Top secret: When we scheduled the event, we didn’t know that Friday is faculty/staff doughnut day at Edgewood High School. It was nice of them to share the treats with us!

In the afternoon we moved to the college student union. Plenty of the students stopped by to re-register with their new addresses. Edgewood is one of the many places around the city of Madison that will have early voting. If you live in Madison check out all of the places you can vote early !
At the end of the day, we registered a total of 53 voters from Edgewood High School and College. Many of them will be first time voters. It’s great to help them to be prepared for November’s Election.
