Get voter information during Mile 4

USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin
APPLETON - Residents can get answers to voting questions at the recently unveiled “Gear Up to Vote” minivan during next week's Mile of Music.

The minivan will be parked from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday in front of the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center. Volunteers from the non-partisan League of Women Voters of Wisconsin, the driving force behind the campaign, will help citizens with photo ID’s, registration, polling locations and more when they attend Mile of Music.

Stephanie Malaney, president of the League of Women Voters of Appleton, said she, along with other local and state league members, encourage residents to stop by.

“We want to meet and greet as many people as possible during Mile of Music,” she said. “The League of Women Voters of Appleton wants all eligible citizens to be registered, informed and geared up to vote. We will also let people know how to connect with our local league whenever they have concerns or questions.”

The take-it-to-the-road campaign includes stops throughout Wisconsin until mid-October, with members of 18 local leagues assisting people who have questions relating to voting procedures and elections. The van will be visible at libraries, neighborhoods, fairs, farmer’s markets and more, with locations being added on a regular basis, according to Erin Grunze, voter education coordinator for the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin.
