July 18, 2016  Madison, WI - Kick-Off Event & Neighborhood Canvass

Join us at the Gear Up To Vote kick-off event at the Madison Senior Center at 10:00AM.
Help us unveil the colorful van and kick off the tour on July 18 at 10AM. Hear from League of Women Voters about the voter registration and education tour set to cross Wisconsin this summer and fall. RSVP to or 608-256-0827.

Then the tour heads to the Hammersley/Teresa neighborhood where we join the Neighborhood Association President, Gloria Meyer, and members of the League of Women Voters of Dane County in a door-to-door canvass to inform and register voters from 5:30-7:30PM.

July 30, 2016  Manitowoc and Two Rivers, WI - Farmers Markets

Join us at these two great Farmer Market staples along the shores of Lake Michigan on Saturday morning. The League of Women Voters of Manitowoc County will be available to take questions and inform voters about the upcoming elections in 2016 and voting in Wisconsin.

We'll first stop at the Manitowoc Farmers Market from 8AM until 10:30AM. (North of the Manitowoc Public Library along the Manitowoc River at the northeast corner of South Eighth and Quay Streets in Downtown Manitowoc.)

Then follow us along Hwy 42 into Two Rivers, WI for the Farmers Market in downtown along Main Street from 11AM to 1PM. (map for Two Rivers here:

August 2, 2016  Milwaukee, WI - Harley Davidson & MPD Community Event - National Night Out 1PM-3PM

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live.

This year the event will be held in the West Side Market parking lot (1201 N. 35th Street) next to Harley Davidson Headquarters on Tuesday, August 2nd, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The Gear Up to Vote Van will set up just after 1:00pm and stay until 3:00pm. Members of The League of Women Voters of Milwaukee will continue to table and inform voters throughout the event until 7:00pm. Come on out!

August 2, 2016  Janesville, WI - National Night Out 5pm-8pm

Join the Janesville Police Department & the Janesville Recreation Division for this nationally celebrated event! National Night Out promotes neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships. Bring the family for free food and drinks, live music, kids' games, police demonstrations, and several community booths…

The League of Women Voters of Appleton welcomes the Gear Up To Vote Tour at Mile of Music in downtown Appleton on Thursday, August 4th from Noon to 6PM. Mile of Music is an amazing mile of safe, walkable and hospitable experiences from craft shops to restaurants, cafes, and bars, all exhibiting the original, hand-crafted flavor that makes Appleton unique. And we'll be there to help get voters informed and Geared Up for the August and November elections.

August 18, 2016  Grafton, WI - ADRC Senior Picnic

The Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Ozaukee County welcomes the Gear Up To Vote Tour to the Grafton Senior Picnic at Grafton High School on August 18. The van staff along with members of the League of Women Voters of Ozaukee County will be at the event from 10:30AM to 1:00PM to inform seniors about the November election and photo ID options for senior citizens. August 24, 2016  Green Bay, WI - Farmers Market

Whether you are looking for fresh food, a place to socialize, shop, eat, or play; On Broadway is where you can find it all. This Farmers' Market On Broadway is the 2nd largest in the State of Wisconsin! Come down Wednesday Night to stock your pantry, try a craft brew, or take in the scene.

And this Wednesday, Aug 24, Gear Up to Vote will be at the On Broadway Farmers Market with the League of Women Voters of Greater Green Bay to register and encourage voters to get to the polls. We'll be out there between 3pm and 8pm. See you there!

August 26, 2016  Beloit, WI - Beloit College

Here we come Beloit! The Gear Up To Vote tours teams up with the League of Women Voters of Beloit in a campus visit on Friday, August 26 to register students and get them geared up for the November election. Students will be able to register at Commons/Chapin Hall between 11AM - 1PM. And then again at the Community Connection Day between 3:30PM - 5:30PM. Look for the Gear Up To Vote van and volunteers in bright orange visors!

August 27, 2016  Madison, WI - Elver Park West Fest

The Gear Up to Vote tour makes a stop at Elver Park for West Fest on Saturday, August 27. We join the League of Women Voters of Dane County as well as the City of Madison Clerk's office for this Westside Community Day. It promises to be a fun-filled, intergenerational summer event bringing diverse neighbors together, building pride, a sense of belonging and fostering community engagement. Our volunteers will also offer voter registration and voter photo ID information at resource tent near the Elver Park shelter from 11AM - 3PM. Look for the Gear Up To Vote van. See you there!

The Gear Up To Vote tour makes a stop at Blackhawk Technical College on Tuesday, August 30th to take part in the Resource Fair in North Commons at the Central Campus. We'll be there to educate and register voters between 11:30AM and 1:00PM. A big thanks and shout out to the League of Women Voters in both Janesville and Beloit for providing members to register voters for this event. We head to the Downtown “Grand” Affair. Join us in Downtown Wisconsin Rapids from 10AM-4PM on Sunday, September 11, to celebrate the beautiful autumn season with music, food, children’s activities and much more like a variety of vendors including: arts and crafts, antiques, food and farm market produce. We join La Movida in the colorful celebration in honor of Mexican Independence Day on Sunday, September 18 beginning with our minivan in the car parade at 10 AM and then joining the festivities at the Alliant Energy Center from Noon to 4PM with a table to assist voters in registering and providing voting information. ¡Vamos a votar!

Gear Up to Vote heads to UW-Oshkosh on Thursday, September 22 to work with the League of Women Voters of Winnebago and the UW Oshkosh Student Association (OSA) to register and inform students about voting. Some will be voting for the first time and we want to help make their experience a good one! We'll be at Reeve Union from 10AM - 2PM.

September 23, 2016  Madison, WI - Edgewood High School and Edgewood College

Edgewood High School invites the Gear Up To Vote project to their school to register first time student voters who will be 18 at the time of the November 8th election. Voting in your first election can be a mixed experience of excitement and fear. We plan to raise the excitement and reduce the fear by educating voters about what's on their ballots, candidate information, and how they can find their polling place.

Then we'll pop over to Edgewood College from 1PM-3PM in Predolin Hall, 2nd floor in Wingra Commons. Here we'll also register students. And let them know about the great news that their campus will be an early voting polling place between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, October 31 - November 4! Get registered. Go Vote!

It's National Voter Registration Day and Gear Up To Vote staff will be speaking at a press conference with the city of Madison Clerk's Office at 1pm at Warner Park in Madison.

The League of Women Voters of the Ripon Area welcomes the Gear Up To Vote tour for a stop at Ripon College on Wednesday, September 28 from 10AM to 1PM at Pickard Commons. We'll be registering Ripon College students and preparing them to vote in the November election.

Hailed as one of the 10 Best Fall Harvest Festivals in the nation by USATODAY, Bayfield, Wisconsin celebrates its Apple Festival that includes a farm market featuring local producers, over 60 orchard and food booths selling Bayfield's apples, apple delicacies, and festival food favorites! There is plenty to buy and see at the 140 art, craft and vendor booths. And we'll have our Gear Up To Vote booth with voter information staffed by local members of the League of Women Voters of Ashland - Bayfield Counties. The festival culminates with the Grand Parade on Sunday, which features a 400 member “Mass Band” finale. Watch for our Van in the parade! See you there.

October 12, 2016  Door County, WI - High School Registration and Candidate Forum:1st Assembly District

Gear Up to Vote joins The League of Women Voters of Door County for a two-event day! First we will assist with voter registration during the school day at Southern Door High School for all eligible student voters. It's very exciting to help young voters prepare to vote for the first time!

Then later that evening the League will host a Candidate Forum for the 1st Assembly District beginning at 7PM. Incumbent Rep. Joel Kitchens (Republican) and challenger Lynn Utesch (Democrat) have agreed to meet in a forum setting to be held at Southern Door High School auditorium, located south of Sturgeon Bay (just off Hwy. 42/57, the 4-lane to Green Bay). The 1st District encompasses all of Door & Kewaunee counties plus slivers of Brown and Manitowoc. Engage with your democracy. Join us for this forum.
